Watford Open Graded Meeting - Wednesday 4th May

"May the Fourth be with you" was certainly true last night in Watford.  The sky was dark, the lights were on, and Invicta athletes were on fire.  At, what is for many, the first 3000m opportunity of the season, Invicta were strongly represented with 9 of the 67 athletes running in a talented field (5 PBs and 4 debuts).

Leading the team out was Jamie Keir (U20M), finishing strongly in 8:36.79, closely followed in finishing time (but from a different heat) by Cole Gibbens in 8:38.41. They were followed home respectively by James Akhurst (9:10.14), Adam Whitlock (U17 9:12.15), Tom Storer (9:15.94), Joe Griffiths (9:21.21), and Ben Hall (9:52.03).  Leading Invicta lady was Anna Weston in 10:11.65, followed by Lucy Procter (U20W) in 10:56.46.

A hugely successful night for Invicta East Kent athletes.
