Kent Schools Championships

 

Athletes at Invicta East Kent AC had a fantastic day at the Kent Schools Championships on Saturday 11th June, where they represented both their school region as well as the club. Notable performances included Charlotte Henrich’s (Simon Langton Girls Grammar) win in the 300m in an incredible 38.44, shaving 0.5 seconds off her PB. This time sees her maintain her top spot as fastest U17 at that distance this year and 13th on the all-time rankings.

 

Charlotte’s training partner Darcie Maple (Simon Langton Girls) had two great races in the 100m, beating her personal best in both races and finishing with a 4th place in the final in 12.78; a huge personal best! In the same age group, Isabella Wilson also got a PB in her 100m heat.

 

Invicta’s throwers continued their streak of successes following the Kent County Championships with Lacee Webb (Barton Court Grammar) winning the hammer throw with a new personal best of 29.50, while sisters Amelia (St Lawrence College) and Gracie (Wellesley House) Lawton had more medals in their respective age groups.  Amelia (U17 /Intermediate) got bronze and a personal best in the shot putt in 9.91 while sister Gracie (U15 and junior) got bronze in the discus with a personal best of 19.60 and a brilliant bronze and another personal best in the javelin.

 

Adam Whitlock got a superb silver in the 800m, just shy of his personal best in 2:00.67. Nate Thomson was just shy of his personal best in his 800m heat.

 

Layla Forest also got a PB in her 200m heat, as well as in the 75m hurdles.

 

Sebastian Sanz-Kozyra finished 2nd in his heat of the 1500m, later finishing 6th in the final with a PB in the final.

 

Zach Adkins was 4th in his 100m heat. Not far off his PB in 12.13 while Josh Thomas-Wright was 5th in his heat

 

Henry Goodwin ran his first 400m race with a superb 57.23 in his heat.

 

Zoe Rogers was a fabulous 4th in her 800m final with a personal best of 2:27.26.

 

Jake Stevens was 4th in the 3km with a new personal best.

 

Laila Humphreys was 2nd in the year 7 girls long jump.

 

Oliver Downs got a PB in the shot putt in 10.79. 

 

Some fantastic performances all round. Well done to everyone that took part.
