Report on Kent League Cross Country at Tonbridge 23 rd Oct 2021.

 

Good Invicta performances all round in Kent League Cross Country.

The second round of the 2021-22 Kent Cross Country League took place at Somerhill School Tonbridge, on Saturday 23 rd October with some great results for Invicta East Kent AC against some very strong competition from other Kent based clubs.

In the senior races over 8km, amongst the men, Cole Gibbens was a very creditable 13 th in a stacked field with Tom Storer coming in 37 th and Adam McKenna 77 th . In the ladies’ race Rebecca Weston finished in a fine 3 rd place.

The U20 races were held over 5km and Oliver Weston won the men’s race with James Ackhurst finishing 8 th and William Jennings 12 th . In the ladies’ race, a brave performance from Lucy Proctor saw her finish 8 th with Rebekah Goodhand 10 th .

In the U17 races also over 5km, Jamie Keir battled for the win in the men’s race but came away with 2 nd , while Jake Stevens produced another good run for 3 rd with William Jennings 12 th . In the ladies’ race, Amy-Jayne Goodhand continued her good form with 3 rd place followed home by Teigan Sullivan 6 th , Millie Knightley 13 th and Eliza Mills 18 th .

There were 4km races for U15’s and Roddy Ostle improved to 13 th against experienced opposition in the boys’ race with Joseph Gormley 37 th and Taylor Cope 43 rd . Solid performances throughout came from Jessica Starck 20 th , Zoe Vallis 24 th , and Jessica Broster, 35 th , in the girls race. The U13 races were over 3km and amongst the boys, a strong second half by Jonson Foster saw him finish 9 th with Gilbert Scott 58 th Amongst the girls, Lois Baisley produced a workmanlike 13 th place with Ffion Sharp 15th and Molly Williams 36 th .

The next Kent League races will be held in on the 13 th November at Danson Park, Bexleyheath.
