Kent Championships to go ahead as planned next month

Track & Field

Details given from Kent Chairman David Ralph please see more details at
KCAA website.

The closing date which currently is 16th April 2021 but due to consider
venue COVID capacity if we need to cap numbers, entries will be considered
in order of receipt.

Please be aware of the latest EA COVID guidance at: Track and Field Operational Gudiance 2021
which we are required to follow as a condition of our permit.

For the KCAA Championships this means in particular:

1. No one should come to the stadium if they feel unwell or have had
a positive COVID test.

2. Travel to and from the stadium should be alone or where that is
not possible in either household or Support bubble transport

3. Everyone will need to register on entry (following directions as
required to do so) confirming name and contact details to comply with the
legal requirements of Test & Trace

4. Spectators are not allowed (that includes parents & coaches) with
the exception that 1 parent or career for a child or vulnerable athlete

5. Parent, Career and athletes will need to Social Distance when not
competing.

6. Trophies *should not *be brought to the venue, our Trophies
Secretary will be in contact about collection, but we do plan to award
medals.

7. Once an athlete has completed their events they must leave the
stadium, to enable this athletes may find that we have planned heats and
finals are closer together than usual but still within UKA rest time
guidance.

8. Failure to comply with COVID requirements will be treated as a
conduct warning by the meeting organisers and athletes need to be reminded
that 2 conduct warnings (of any type) across all events will mean that an
athlete can no longer compete in the Championships for any event or on
either day. Please note that the UKA latest rule book specifies that
athlete spitting may attract a conduct warning.

The first KYAL meeting at Dartford on Sunday, 23rd May is likely to still
be under similar limitations as outlined above, so team managers will need
to consider transport limitations, athletes leaving after their last event
and social distancing of the team.

The fixture dates on the KCAA website fixture list are right but a couple
of venues may change due to operational difficulties and will be updated
shortly.
