Track & Field

It was an action-packed weekend of athletics at Medway Park on 16th/17th September, with the Kent U13 Champs, Masters Champs and U20/Sen Combined Events Champs all taking place concurrently.

Perhaps busiest of all was Doug Noel, taking overall gold in the Senior Men's Decathlon with 6287 points, and seven individual 1st places (HJ, LJ, PV, Discus, Javelin, 400m, 1500m).

Our solitary representative in the Masters was David Chambers, who secured 1st in the M70+ javelin (21.39m), 2nd in the M70+ shot (9.76m) and 3rd in the M70+ discus (26.26m).

In the U13, Story Bundy dominated for the boys with wins in the 100m final (12.76 secs, PB), and shot (11.50m), second in the long jump (4.77m) and 4th in the javelin (30.47m)

In the U13G, Martha Adkins continued her strong form in the sprints with 1st in the 150m final (19.70secs, equal PB) and a very close 2nd in the 75m (10.05secs), just 1/100 of a second behind first place.

The depth of the U13G squad showed with Tia Wiggins taking 4th place in her heat of the 75m (10.84secs), 7th in the 800m (2.34.36 PB) and 10th in the long jump (4.08 PB), Lily Kenyon took 6th place in her heat of the 75m (10.50) and 12th in the long jump (4.05m), Mattea Stanley finished 7th in her 75m heat (11.42secs), 8th in the 150m heats (22.42 PB) and 11th in long jump (4.08 PB), and Miller Payne scored two PBs in the 800m (2.38.89) and 1200m (4.15.94)
