                               GB Selection and other great Invicta performances Last Weekend !

 

Saturday 26th November saw local Invicta East Kent AC athletes in action both at the Selection Trials for the European Championships in Liverpool and in the 4th round of the Kent Cross Country League at Foots Cray Meadows near Bexley.

 

At Liverpool, star athletes Matthew Stonier and Alexandra Millard both put in outstanding performances and qualified for the GB team in the men’s and ladies U23 races in 3rd place. These will take place in Turin, Italy on the 11th December.

 

In other races Jamie Keir was 19th in the men’s U20 race, Adam Whitlock was 54th in the men’s U17 race, Marcus Etheridge was 81st, Oliver Weston 105th and Cole Gibbens 119th in the senior men’s race.

 

Invicta East Kent AC were also out in force in the Kent League and produced some great results.

Star of the show was Noah Paterson who won the men’s U17 5K race in 15m 52sec. He ran strongly from the start and in the last kilometre shook off one of the Tonbridge runners and finally won by 14 seconds.

 

In the senior men’s 8k race, new Invicta athlete Sarib Dhillon finished in a very strong 3rd place, followed home by Chris Fullerton in 18th, Tom Storer in 28th and Will Jennings in 93rd. They finished as 6th Team. In the men’s U20 race another new Invicta athlete Freddie Adams finished in 3rd. In the boys U15 race there was strong race by Roddy Ostle who finished 12th with Joseph Gormley in 25th, Alfie Parker in 26th and Taylor Cope in 42nd. The team finished a very creditable 3rd. The boys U13 race saw two creditable performances from Jasper Carroll who finished 6th and Jonson Foster 8th.

In the girls U15 race Zoe Vallis was 17th and in the ladies U17 race Eliza Mills was 21st.
