Senior Men & Women 4th, u-13 Girls + u-20 Men & Women all win

Our Senior Men and Women, both 4th in match 2 at Somerhill School (Tonbridge) are now both 3rd in the county league out of 17 clubs. On a wet grey day, our Men's team of 9 (including 6 Seniors, 2 vets and one u-20) were level with Cambridge Harriers on 84 points, but clinched 4th thanks to our 4th[img:518r] scorer Andy Cope (43rd) finishing ahead of Cambridge's 4th best who was 47th in a field of 148. James Cotton (12) Damien Vadgama (14) Mark Wilkins (15) were all in the top 20, our best vet Stuart Reilly (68) Tom Purnell (76) and fine debut runs by Tim Corby (77) Ben Egan (82) with Tim Kerr 136th. Our Senior Women's team of 3 vets and 1 Senior were led home again by evergreen vet Sharon Hawkins (7) the ever-improving Claire Brown (14) was up 5 places from the first match, and vets Vicky Talbot Rosner and Janice Moorekite 27th & 46th in a field of 78. Three IEK teams won their matches and all 3 are top of the league - our u-13 Girls[img:519l] are dominant with 2 wins out of 2 outings with Bobby Clay undefeated individually with Anna Weston (3) Lilly Coward (7) and Amy Old (9) with Molly Dawson 23rd in a field of 35 finishers. Both our u-20 teams lead the league - the Women were led home by race winner Cath Lough (pictured left) with Helen Robinson 2nd and Rachel Seaman 4th. Our u-20 Men were led home by an under-par Jason Prickett (3) with Jamie Bailey (4) and James Reilly 7th. Realistically, for county rankings one has to bear in mind that 6 u-20 females, and 4 u-20 males, raced the Seniors on the day. Jake Rogers (3) lead our u-15 team to 4th when he was the only u-15 other athlete in Kent among Tonbridge's formidable top 4 runners on the day - Eddie Burton and Jack Smith were 14 and 31 respectively.[img:520r] Our u-17 Boys' team was 4th, led again by Kieran Reilly (8) with Chris Thomas (12) and Sam Hudson (20) while Joe Marchant (pictured right) was our 7th man home in 37th, with less than two months training under his belt. Alex Clay boldly threw her customary caution to the wind to lead the 1st half and clinch a fine 2nd in u-15 Girls, while Emily Hosker Thornhill (5) and Beth Burnett 11th were stalwart u-17 finishers. Senior run of the day - u-20 Andy Cope (Males) and Claire Brown (Females) Junior run of the day - Chris Thomas u-17 Males and Caroline Robinson's debut run for 9th, u-15 Females.
