IEK win 3 Kent XC league titles, Seniors both 3rd with one to go

[img:560r]The eight age group cross-country league titles decided in Bexley's Danson Park were cornered by just two clubs - IEK took 3 titles (u-13 Girls and both M & F u-20) with Tonbridge taking all the other 5, with mighty Blackheath Bromley netting 4 team silvers. Our Senior Men's team, led yet again by Mark Wilkins (12) and James Cotton (17) were 3rd at Danson Park and are now 3rd team overall, as are our women - both Men & Women contest their final match in February. Of 13 IEK Senior Men to have raced in red this season, Mark is highest overall (8th) with James Cotton 10th overall from 238 Men in the League. [img:561l]Our u-13 Girls recorded an emphatic 4th win in a row with 5 IEK red vests in the top 10 and 7 reds in top 20. Bobby Clay (undefeated all season) took the overall title, with Anna Weston (4) and Lilly Coward (6) are 2nd and 3rd overall and are all pictured with Amy Old (clutching team winning trophy) who was 7th on the day and 5th overall. Helen Robinson (3) and Rachel Seaman (6) helped our u-20 women comfortably win their league - our u-20 Men were undefeated all season and the race of the day featured a fit-looking Donald Carter pipping overall league winner Jason Prickett on the line. Strength in depth is key here, with Jamie Bailey (5) and James Reilly (6) finishing 4th and 5th overall. Jake Rogers (2) was delighted to finish ahead of the league's No.1 u-15 Charlie Joslin-Allen from Tonbridge who was 3rd at Danson. Newcomer Rebecca Wickington (11) had a fine debut in u-15s where Alex Clay (4) finished 3rd overall. Male run-of-the-day was Senior Tim Corby (46) whose recent club training accounts for his dramatic climb into the top 50 on the day, compared to his Somerhill debut finish in 77th. Female run-of-the-day was Amy Old who, in just one short year, has progressed from 27th in Kent into the top 10 For details click underlined text.....[doc:562]
