Holly gains two titles and five medals at County Champs

Holly Fielder showed why she is one of the best multi-eventers in the country for her age, by claiming five medals in five events and two County titles at the Kent U13 Champs in Erith at the weekend.

On Saturday she won silver in the shot put with a new personal best of 7.16m (National Grade 4) which she then followed up with silver in the 70m hurdles with another personal best of 12.23 seconds (National Grade 2). Then, having run a heat, a semi-final and then a final in the space of just over two hours, Holly won the County 150m title posting her fastest time of the day in the final with 20.81seconds (National Grade 2).

On Sunday Holly returned to gain silver in the 75m with another personal best of 10.75 seconds (National Grade 3). Finally she then won the County long jump title with a best leap of 4.62m (National Grade 1). Such was her dominance in this event that 4 of her jumps were better than the second placed athlete.

Also in action at the same Champs was Connie Willett, who came 9th in the 1200m with a time of 4 minutes 17 seconds.

Laura Parrish and Ella Fox ran in the 800m, with Ella setting a new personal best of just under 2 minutes 32 seconds.
